NFL Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a close win over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Defensive Display Wins Contest

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a safety in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards during the entire game.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

In spite of their horrendous offensive display, the Jets maintained the ball with a opportunity to drive for a possible victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York finished with minus-10 net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," Glenn stated after the contest.
